About
Built by anglers who love teaching.
Hill Country Fishing Camps started with a simple idea: kids learn faster, smile bigger, and remember more when they're standing on a real pond holding a real rod. Not a classroom, not a sterile fish hatchery — a quiet stretch of water with patient guides and a tackle box.
We run small groups so every camper gets actual reps. Tying knots, casting, setting the hook, unhooking what they catch. By Friday they're doing it themselves.
Our guides
All of our seasonal staff are CPR/First Aid certified and background-checked. Most are college students who grew up fishing these same ponds — and they love sharing it.
Our philosophy
- Catch and release for almost everything.
- Phones in the bin. Eyes on the water.
- Encouragement over performance — every kid leaves a little prouder.
